ADVISORY BOARD DEVELOPMENT:

"TOUCH" will develop an Advisory Board to help expand into a more comprehensive program. "TOUCH" will create a mailing list of persons known to have a sincere interest in ex-offender reintegration programs. The list will include politicians, probation officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, judges and former prisoners who has accomplished successful post prison life. Advisory board members will gather a minimum of two (2) times a year for a donut and coffee meeting. Issues to be discussed will involve matters related to improving re-integration of ex-offenders and the promoting of Inmate Mentoring Programs at the institutional level.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAMS:

The "TOUCH" house will be a place for hope and new beginnings for men who have a need to improve their social, emotional, and spiritual self-direction. Clients will be assigned through the Inmate Mentoring Program. Getting ex-offenders successfully back into society by providing a helping hand to men being released from prison is the main objective of the Transitional Housing component.Allowing men to seek and obtain gainful employment and establish positive community relationships prior to full community release is an essential factor in a successful re-entry for ex-offenders.

VOLUNTEERS:

Volunteers will play a key role in the "TOUCH" program. "TOUCH" will accept volunteers from the community at large. Additionally, "TOUCH" has a unique built-in volunteer network from the clients themselves. In fact, the "TOUCH" program includes an incentive for successful clients to become volunteers.  Again, symbolizing the "reach out and touch" concept.
